Hi,
I recently upgraded from WIN98SE to WINXP Home Edition, stand alone
machine, and have been exploring some of the programs to see what they
do. I have found several shortcuts, all to files ending in MSC, which
fail in an odd way.
They all behave in a similar manner, but to be specific:
Shortcut name is "Component Services."
Target is "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Com\comexp.msc."
When I click on the link, I get the "Windows cannot find
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Com\comexp.msc. Make certain that you have typed
the name correctly, etc, etc." error message.
A file search brings up that file, exactly where the link is pointing.
If I try to start the file directly, which is clearly there since I
found it, I get exactly the same error message.
Any help on what is going on here?
Alan
