I am using win2k server with service pack 1 I cannot restore system state.
Microsoft now claim that backups taken before service pack2 will not
restore. Can you believe it. does anyone know of a fix urgently otherwise I
will have to reconfigure and add all my usersand computers

I hope Microsoft dont branch into parachute production

As long as the conditions in this articel did not apply when the backup was
made you should be ok to restore. These changes would not normally occur on
a single dc without prior knowledge.

ut Richard

I backed up with ntbackup without service pack 2 therefore my backup is
effectivly usless. is that not correct

when i did try to restore system state it gave me a lsass error

My only option realistically appears to do a restore and reconfigure the
server

It will take me days
