Hey I downloaded this file that's a free game and when i
run it its just a quick dos window that closes. When i try
renaming it to .zip or something (from .exe) it just gives
me a sharing violation. Same with deleting it... it's not
in the process tree, and I tried rebooting, and also tried
ending all processes that aren't system needed. Nothing
worked.. what sthe best way to bypass this? or find if
something in my registry is corrupting it?

Windows 2000 does not run any form of Disk Operating Ssytem.
It has a Command Prompt with an emulator

Reboot your PC, then rename the file. If you still cannot rename
it then you have cause for concern: It could be a virus or malware.
