I can't seem to rename folders in Windows Vista. Doesn't seem to be a
problem renaming files, but I can't rename folders. It seems to allow me to
edit the name but does not change it after I enit it and hit enter.

I guess it's related to my not being able to change the status of folders
from Read-Only. Again it seems to allow me to de-select "Read only" but when
I go back and check the folder properties again, it still shows up as Read
Only.

WHat am I moissing?

TIA

Hi,

If it is considered a system folder, such as the Windows, Users, or Program
Files directories, then the name cannot be changed. Please also read my
response to your question about the read only attribute.
