I installed and tried STOPZilla and now that I don't want to use it any
longer I can't uninstall it. I tried using the uninstall feature of this
application and also from XP in the add/remove area. Nope. It says it
can't find a particular file:

"Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the
file:
C:/Windows/Installer/SZProBase/msi "

I than deleted all files on the harddrive related to this applcation using
the search feature of XP and its still there.

How do I get rid of it from the add/remove area(s) of XP??

Try re-installing the application, and then uninstalling it again. You
probably deleted the file(s) it needed to do an uninstall.

I tried that. The new installation says I have the latest version installed
and it won't go any further.

I even ran Registry Mechanic to try and help. Nope. I did another search
of all my files and folders. Nothing left for STOPzilla
But the add/remove program still thinks the program is installed.

There must be a way to get rid of it...??

Try deleting the Stopzilla uninstall Registry key.
It should be somewhere under this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
