I cannot access any programs form the desktop, so I used
the Reinstallation CD. I received an error message while
the progam was registering componets. The error message
said " GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link
library MSDART.DLL. You help is much appreciated.

I have heard a few solutions to this one.

Suggestion One (an easy one) is to download and install MDAC 2.8 from
Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en
(Reboot afterwards..)

Suggestion Two:
Make a copy of the msdart.dll and store it somewhere like "My Documents"
then try renaming MSDART.DLL to MSDART32.DLL.

Apparently, Windows XP can name the file incorrectly.

You can also check your MDAC version with this tool; the MDAC component
Checker from Microsoft:

if people reply without using the original thread, as they seem to be doing
recently, how do i find any replies to a post that i have made. all the
replies are being returned "re:.......".

the original post may be in the text but if i have marked my post to 'watch'
it, the replies won't be there i'll have to go thru all the posts to find
them.

why are they being displayed without the original thread? this never used to
be the case.

thanks.

You seem to be using Outlook Express as your newsreader, so let me make this
suggestion:

View -> Current View -> Group messages by Conversation
(Make sure that is checked in OE.)
