I have been using Windows Mail for months. I just started not being able to
receive emails. I send them fine. When I go to WebMail (for Cox) the
messages are there. There are no error messages - when I click on
Send/Receive it shows the task as completed. Any advice?

Thanks!

I don't think I have a stuck message. I tried to install the update in the
second section and it said it doesn't apply to my computer. I appreciate
your help!

By any chance are you running a non-compatible antivirus program?
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
or Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

I am using McAfee. How do I uninstall it?

Thank you to everyone! I uninstalled McAfee, installed Avast, reset my
Windows Mail account. When I hit Send/Receive it shows: downloading message
1 of 1 but then no message shows up. My other folders are empty.

Hi Shawn,

I tried but it still says: Does not apply to your system. I get no error
messages at all and I did make sure my view is correct. I'm at a loss. I
appreciate all your help : )
