I posted this in Microsoft answers as well, sorry if it's a double post - I'm
rather lost. I can receive email in Windows mail, on two separate accounts,
but can't send from either. I get the same error message for both (separate
smtp servers).

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'test', Account:
'mail.jmbrowngc.com', Server: 'mail.jmbrowngc.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '421 too many connections', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67

It has worked fine until this morning. Could it be due to an update that
was installed? Tried shutting down McAfee already - no luck there either.
Using the above account and a yahoo account for mail. Please help!!

It could be that the J.M. Brown General Contractor's server is having
problems. I think that the server is complaining that there are "too many
connections". Check with them; it is probably nothing you can fix.

Here is a reply to my own question. On another Microsoft board, someone was
able to answer this. Basically, my outgoing port was incorrect. I have no
idea why, but that is what it was!

The port was incorrect? If so, what did you change it to?
Port 25 is usually correct for hosted accounts.

One possible explanation is that they fixed it in the server and if so then
anything you did in your system could appear to be a fix, even if you did
nothing at all and if the problem occurs again then the fix for today won't
fix the problem the next time.
