Never had this problem before. It will receive up to 2 messages and then just
freeze up on the third. I don't get an error report, just says receiving
mail....in the bottom right corner. help! It has been this way for days.

i've had the same Norton since I got the computer and win mail. it all came
together and i never had problems with it before, so i don't think it is the
problem? could the problem be with my webserver?

No, I don't think it's your "webserver." (I think you meant mail server.)
If you think you know better than the experts, why are you even
bothering to be here?

It is caused by Norton. This can crop up at any time and it is like a time bomb. Uninstall Norton and install something like Avast which is free and will work very nicely with Windows Mail. Just remember that when installing any AV suite do not enable the email integration(email scanning)

Peter ,

I also have this problem, and just now I alrd uninstall the Norton from my
computer , but still can not receive email and the problem remains. Can you
give me further solution ???

Jack

It is possible that Norton corrupted that mail account. Create the
mail account again, then delete the old account. Try receiving mail.
If you get an error message, right-click on it, copy, then paste it into
a reply here.

Gary~

thanks for your help. I have also uninstalled Norton, installed Avast,
created a new account, and still my email stops at the third message. Atleast
now, there is an error posted:

Account: 'salseros828.com', Server: 'salseros828.com', Protocol: POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

any ideas?

When it halts on the third message, do the first two messages download okay?
Does it download those first two messages over and over? If so, there is a
stuck message on the mail server. If you have webmail access, inspect the
messages sitting on the server to see if you can spot the bad one. It will
typically be the oldest and/or biggest one. Delete it.
If you don't have webmail access, you can use http://mail2web.com.

Thanks again. i tried the mail2web. It says I have no messages. Wierd. I
also noticed that there are the same 2 messages over and over in my junk
mail. So, it sounds like you pinpointed the problem and I need to delete that
one message, but I can't get to it. Any suggestions?

Thanks

The domain salseros828.com is hosted by Dotster.
You will need to call Dotster tech support and have them delete the stuck email.
