can't rearrange my Quick Launch Toolbar

For some reason, I can no longer rearrange my Quick
Launch icons. Drag-and-drop no longer works either.

Any ideas?

Thanks, but neither seems to do the job. In fact, drag-
and-drop already was enabled. I can do other d-and-d's,
I just can't drag to the Quick Launch bar nor can I
manually rearrange the order of the icons by dragging,
which I used to be able to do.

I find your tweaking program quite nice, and I'm sure it
will come in useful in the future. But right now, I'm
stumped as to why I am no longer able to do the basic
things with the Quick Lauch bar that I used to.

or....

Right click the Start button, select Properties, Customize. Scroll through
the options on the Advanced tab and put the check mark back in Enable
dragging and dropping.

Most welcome, Norm. Have you checked to make sure the Taskbar isn't locked?

Norm,

See if this helps:

Click Start | Run | type "regsvr32 /i shell32"
and "regsvr32 /i shdocvw"

Nope. It has nothing to do with Taskbar Lock. It
doesn't work with it either locked or unlocked.

I have my backup machine sitting right next to my problem
machine. Quick Launch icon dragging works just fine on
the backup machine.

Norm

Thanks Ramesh, but still no go. I ran both the ones
mentioned by you and STILL can't drag icons in my
QuickLaunch taskbar area.

I have noticed that this problem is only with my primary
login account. When I switch to other users, dragging
QuickLaunch icons works just fine.

Man, am I puzzled by this one.

Hi Norm,

I can only suggest from here, in the meantime is to add them via Windows
Explorer\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Option:

Delete the folder: Windows Explorer\Documents and Settings\User
Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Then create a new folder in the same location named Quick Launch.

If the above doesn't help, good luck and keep us posted!

Well that didn't work either. I guess this one's a real
stumper. I'll keep investigating and if I ever figure it
out, I'll post my findings here. Have a happy holiday
season!

Just to let you know your not alone...I have same problem. I'll look
forward to your post if you find a fix...likewise.
