You need to set the hard drive jumper to slave
on the secondary hard drive.

| i just put together a new computer. put a new hard drive in for a very clean
| install of windowsxp. i then installed my 120 gig hard drive as an ide
| primary slave, bios sees it, the system sees it, but i can't access it. i
| tried going to disk management (its there) but there is no assigned drive
| letter and it won't let me assign one to it. any help in getting my files
