Can't print printer friendly versions

System either does nothing, or shows "Error on Page" in
lower left message bar when I try to print printer
friendly versions of various pages. This includes maps
from MSM Maps & Directions, as well as news artcles from
MSNBC. HELP!

Cannot Print from Internet Explorer

None of these recommendations work. I'm running Windows
XP and IE 6 with SP1 installed. First 2 items were for
earlier versions, and Surfairy is no where to be found on
my PC.

I can print screen images of IE web pages; but, when
there is an option to go to a printer friendly version of
the current page, that is when nothing happens. I have
been told that "Error on Page" means that the web site is
having problems, but I've gone to another computer and
have been able to print the exact page with no problem.
Again, specific examples are maps from MSN Maps &
Directions, and news articles from MSNBC and CNN.

Again, thanks for any help you can offer.

Quite by accident I discovered what was causing my problem. I use a utility
called AdSubtract to suppress all those annoying pop up ads, banners, etc.
When I shut the utility off, the error on page problems goes away.
