Have discovered that when I try to print e-mails received with Pegasus
4.12, the result is garbage graphic characters.

I haven't printed e-mails very frequently in the past, so I can't say
when I last printed one successfully.

Anyone know what's causing this problem and how to fix it?

Try check: Tools -> Options -> Incoming Mail -> Message Reader
-> Set Fonts. Try a different font, like a Unicode enabled TrueType
font.

PS: Some Windows fonts supports some code pages/character sets and not
others. Some font mangers will display what code pages/character sets
a font supports, for example X-fonter
<http://users.pandora.be/eclypse/> will show you info for "Supported
Code Pages" and "Supported Unicode Pages" for any given font.

Hello Bjorn.

Thanks very much for your advice. Since I'm not knowledgeable enough
to identify Unicode TrueType fonts, I just selected Times New Roman,
which sounded familiar to me, and sure enough, it printed fine.

It turns out that the previously set font (presumably the default) was
"martlet'.

Sorry for the late response. I'm running about 3300 messages behind in
my ACF reading, and only found your reply today ;(.

PS. After changing the Pegasus font from Martlett to Times New Roman,
and establishing that I could now print Pegasus e-mails again, I
discovered that I could no longer print pdf files from Acrobat Reader
4.05! Unlike the Pegasus printing problem, where garbage characters
were printed, attempts to print pdf pages simply produced blank paper.

It took a while to make the connection, although the Pegasus font
change was the only configuration change I'd made since AR last
printed successfully. But after establishing that pdf pages that
printed ok the day before would no longer print, I went back and
changed the Pegasus font again, this time from Times New Roman to
Tahoma, and now both Pegasus and AR are printing properly again. Go
figure!
