can't print full width of web page

when I try to print a page on my hp DeskJet printer, sometimes it doesn't
print the right 3/ 4 inch of the page or so.
I have changed to margins to .5". better ,but still not there. Is there a
setting to adjust to paper size like on acrobat?

Try this little ActiveX control:
IE Fixed-Width Printing: http://www.visiontech.ltd.uk/software/index.html
(Or you could switch to landscape mode when printing such sites)

IE 7 will have this fixed, but it is in beta right now and not recommended
for primary/critical computers.
