I have a new HP Pavilion a220n with a HP 4110 All-In-One
deskjet. WordPerfect will ONLY print from the
PerfectExpert icon. When trying to print from the tool
bar icon, or the File menu, the system hangs-up (Program
not responding). Unfortunately, the PerfectExpert icon
is not always available, i.e. when printing lables. HP
says it ain't their problem....any suggestions?

I don't know the answer; you will have more luck if you go to a WordPerfect
group. WordPerfect is a Corel product, it doesn't have anything to do with
XP or Microsoft.

I love it- just one more reason not to buy a 'brand' computer and stick with
a clone. These guys cram so much proprietary stuff into the background that
you have so many "proprietary problems" that others will not have.

Try shutting down a lot of background stuff before installing software-
including virus scanning software, etc.

Do you have any utilities like Norton Disk Doctor- (fix registry??)

Since Word Perfect has been slain by MS, HP-computer specific support might
be pretty lean and far and few between.

Many times the cause of software issues are due to installing software while
lots of background stuff is running. I like to close down as many of the
task bar icons as possible when running a program install. It all dates
back to many known issues while installing software while McAffee Anti-Virus
(I think it was version 4) that just about crippled everything installed
after it was resident in your system. Since then, it has been pretty widely
known that sometimes simply shutting down the AV software before installing
any new Application is a good strategy to implement. Sometimes uninstalling
and reinstalling without AV running will not do because of registry changes
that are not taken care of during uninstalling software. I've had to use
Norton System Utilities to fix registry irregularities to get back on track.

At least you haven't had HP tech service that you must reinstall your
operating system. I've been told that by some people along the way, only to
search newsgroups and find that one simple deletion in a registry or some
other minor tweak would fix my problems!
