I HAVE JUST BOUGHT NEW LAPTOP AND FOUND OUT THAT I CANT PLAY ON WINDOWS VISTA
DUE TO IT NOT BEING COMPATABLE, CAN ANYBODY HELP ME, MICROSOFT PLEASE.

I'm in the same boat... I have Windows Vista Home

It says "Diablo II has a known campatibility issue with this version of
Windows. For an update that is compatible with this version of Windows,
contact Blizzard."

I have no solutions for this, and need some help.

microsoft did not produce the games.
contact the game maker.

Ever heard of compatibility? Try running it as XP.

i have tried compatability ive tried runnig as windows xp and 95 none of them
help, it says not compatible then says my graphics driver not responded.

I have heard about compatibility mode but you have to get the game installed
first, with xp games it might be an installer problem

I couldn't D2 to run the video test and the PC just resets like it just
recovered from a major error until I finally got it to run the video test
finally and it will only run the game for 1 few seconds before it faults out
and PC resets itself again (I actually got to the starting character screen
as you start to move them and it stops right there). I run Vista home premium
32 bit version and have a Toshiba Satillite P105-S6147 laptop and did
everything blizzard said to do and it won't run the games for no longer than
a few seconds. Have any of you had this issue as well.

I ran Diablo II LOD with XP and had no problems. Then when I upgraded to
Vista the game done the same thing I got to the starting character screen, as
you start to move them and it stops right there. >

Then I would <alt + tab> back to the desktop, & see this message below.

(Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered.
Display Driver IGFX has stopped responding and successfully recovered)

Vista home premium 32 bit version.
Toshiba Satellite U205-S5034
Core 2 duo, 1.60 Ghz
1024mb of ram
Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family

Can anyone help, I've also tried compatibly mode with no luck.
