Denis

Since upgrading to "Media 9", I can't play any music CD.

When I click on the play symbol I get:

" ! Cannot play back the file. The format is not
supported."

I can't get any help from the Micro Soft Help Line
without paying a $50 fee, so thought I would ask if
anyone else has experienced this problem.

Apparently there is no way of going back to a previous
level.

HELP !!!!! ???????

Do you have System Restore on your computer? If so, try
that. I know about the problems with version 9---it
messed up the sound on our speakers, so when we
reformatted our hard drive, I loaded the good old version
7 back on there. I won't be updating this again.

Anyway, have you tried double-clicking on the music files
from their location in the My Computer window? Sometimes
if files have been renamed, they won't play from WMP.
Try this. If it works, you'll need to load all of your
files from that location onto WMP by double-clicking each
one (make sure that WMP is set up to be the program that
opens the files). Hope that this helps!

Open Windows Explorer, doubleclick the CD-Rom drive, probably "D
Look in righthand side window and see the extension of the files o
the CD, if they are MP3, WMA or CDA, they should be supported b
WMP and play. If in another format such as MP4, ASX, PLS,
WMP may not support the music format. You can download the belo
program for converting the files, it is also an excellent playe
