Help,

I've created a presentation in Powerpoint 2002, saved it with a .pps
extension and copied it to a CD. But when I play it (the
presentation) from any other pc than the one I created it on, I get an
error that either I'm out of memory, or that Powerpoint does not
recognize the file. I've even recieved an error that there are no
slides in the presentation.

I'm mystified as the first .pps I copied worked just fine and every
subsequent copy does not.
There is also a WAV file in the presentation.
Does the version have any thing to do with it not playing on earlier
versions of Office?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
thanks so much,
Jo

Because the file will still play on your computer, it leads me to
believe you have a bad burn on your CD. Or it's multisession and not
closed.

Instead of copying (or saving) the file directly to the CD--which, BTW,
is a great way to end up with corrupt files--move it back to your
harddrive and use your CD burning software to burn the file to a new CD.
If you have more than one file to move to the CD, burn all of them using
your CD software.

Ah, this may point to the "multisession CD" part, then. I think using
your CD burning software will probably resolve the issues.

Thanks for the info.
I should have said that I was using a CD burner to create the CD, as
copying implies something different.
This is a CD Burner at work as I don't have one at home, hence not
knowing as much as I should to be creating this CD.

What does multisession refer to? Is this something that I set when I
create the CD?

thanks Echo,

Ahhh. Glad to know you're not dragging and dropping or copying/pasting
directly to the CD, Jo. (You'll be better off for that in the long run!)

Multisession CDs are the ones where you write files to the CD then leave
the CD "open" so you can write more to it. A lot of CD drives
(especially older ones) have trouble reading multisession CDs, and often
see only one of (or sometimes none of) the files on them.

When you burn your CD, you may have options to "close" the CD after
burning. You may also be able to go back and "close" your existing CD,
too. Which CD burning software are you using? Probably someone here is
using it, too, and can give you specific steps.
