yOU NEED TO CONVERT FROM MOVIEMAKER FORMAT TO AN MPEG
FILE WHICH WILL THEN BE ACCEPTABLE TO A DVD PLAYER.
www.tmpgenc.net HAVE FREE DOWNLOAD TO DO THIS . IT SAYS
IT WILL CONVERT .AVI FILES TO MPEG BUT SEEMS TO ACCEPT
ANY TYPE CERTAINLY MOVIEMAKER OUTPUT. WHEN USING THE
DOWNLOAD AND "BROWSING"FOR YOUR INPUT VIDEO FILE USE THE
BOTTOM FILE TYPE ie "ALL FILES(*.*) GOODLUCK

Hi there,

I suppose the first question must be, "What format/ type of file is on this
disc?"

If its a movie disk created with Movie Maker 2, well the bad news is that
there are presently no domestic/home DVD players that support that format.
The format is called High Mat.

If its an avi file on the disc, well you can't do that either.

What CAN you do
=============

You will need a third party package that can create a format that your DVD
player WILL accept. The obvious choice is one that creates DVD's providing
you have a DVD writer. The next choice would be to create a VCD disk. You
can make these with a CD-Writer/reWriter. The quality...well some say its
better than VHS others say its worse. I think its generally safe to say
that you get what you pay for.

I hope this helps a little. If not ask again.

How is the VCD disk created? I only have a CD writer, but would like to convert the mm2 files to a format that could be use on both CD or DVD players, when available. Thanks!

Hi there,

You need another software package.

Before you spend big bucks have a look for a magazine called PC Utilities
(that's what it is called in the UK) It contains the pick of what's out
there in the Shareware and Freeware market.

I bought the most recent copy yesterday..it contains 2,714 programs 346 of
them are audio and video packages. Value for money its the most cost
effective of collecting software. I would be greatly surprised if you
cannot get an equivalent Nag in your country. They have a web site where I
understand you can download the package of your choice...it is
