Fredo

Hi guys (and girls),

I'm using Windows XP and Office 2003 french.
I'm unable to play my show in the Presentateur mode.
I don't know the english word but a short description should do.
The mode is when I wanna play the show in one screen and have the
commentaries on my monitor. In the menus, the thing is on the menu
left to windows and in the 2nd option of this menu. The option for
presentator mode is gray, can't touch it...

Basicely, I'm with a laptop and I wanna display my show on the wall
with a projector. I was telled that a laptop is always configured so
we can plug a monitor (like my projector) on the back and the laptop
recognise it as it is.
So, why can't i play the presentator mode.

Everything works fine with the projector, just can get the presentator
mode.

I hope I've describe it well, sorry for my possible mispelling, I'm
not used to write in english.

Thanks for your help.

See ya

Your English is very good, Fredo. No worries there!

I don't know a lot about Presenter View, but I do know that you must have the 2nd monitor or projector attached before it becomes available.

Is Presenter View greyed out (unavailable) when you have the laptop hooked to the projector?

Hi,
Everything is plug well (I pluged it before startup), the projector
works, it shows my monitor on the wall...
but the presenter view is greyed out (unavailable). That is the
problem...
Does any setting of the laptop is missing or something?

Thanks for your time.

Bye

Fredo

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]
[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint
that you just created (you can save, but not open)? -
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=329820]

Hello,

In order for the option to be available inside PowerPoint (Slide Show ->
Set up show) the following conditions must be met OUTSIDE of PowerPoint:

1. You are running Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, and
2. More than one monitor must be enabled in the "Display" control panel for
Windows (not all computers will have the necessary display adapter hardware
to support this capability).

It sounds like your computer might not satisfy the 2nd condition.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions as to how
PowerPoint's presenter tools (such as Presenter View in PowerPoint 2003)
might be improved, don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Hi,

John is right, only one monitor was enable, so i updated the driver
and everything is ok.
At start, the IT guy where I work told my that by default every laptop
is configure to accept 2 monitors, that gets me out of the track...
but finally come back because of John, thanks man.

Thanks for your time.

See ya.
