I have some Win 2K machines on my network that are behaving very
strangely. I can see them in Network Neighborhood and even connect to
thm through there. However, I cannot ping them at all. The machines
have valid IPs off of the DHCP server, and do not have any problems
connecting to the network or getting on to the internet.
For example: Machine A has IP of 168.0.1.102 on it from the DHCP
server. I can see MAchine A under network neighborhood and even
connect to it's shared drive. It is online and running fine. However
whin I ping 168.0.1.102 I get a no reply and when I ping Machine A I
get an unknown host error.
This is all very strange because I had no problems before this week. I
have checked the switches they are on, and they are all on differnt
switches and machines that are on the same switch can ping others on
the same switch, but not MAchine A.
Any ideas???
