I have two pc's networked using a crossover cable. One is
using win2000 the other xp. I can see and access files in
network neighbourhood but when i play games the two
computers dont see each other. I have tried a ping test
which times out. I have used the automatic ip addresses
under my tcp/ip properties. What is likely to be going
wrong

Turn off your internal firewalls while testing.

It is often integrated with your virus scanner, e.g. with
Trend Internet Security.

This thread is getting a little confusing. After I suggested that you
should turn off your firewall, you said that you did turn it off but
that the problem persisted.

One hour later you said that it worked perfectly.
