Can't Ping ADSL Modem

Hi

I have a Windows 2000 PDC server, with a static IP address. This server is
unable to ping the IP address of the ADSL modem. The server is assigned a
192.168.x.x IP address while the modem is assigned a 10.0.x.x. As a result
this computer cannot surf the internet. However client machines on the
network can surf the internet and ping the IP address of the modem. DHCP is
used to assign IP addresses to the clients. Can anyone shed some light on
this problem and suggest a solution.

If your server has an IP address of 192.168.x.x then it cannot
reach a device with an IP address of 10.0.x.x. Assuming that
your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, you must align the two
devices like so:

ADSL Router: 10.0.0.x
Server: 10.0.0.y
 
this configuration was working when in the 192 space. Isn't there any other
suggestion ...
 
I haven't seen the previous posts. Could you run IPCONFIG /ALL from a DOS
Window and paste the results into you post so I can accurately see the
results.

I'm assuming this is truely an ADSL Modem and not an ADSL Router and that
the computer in question is the duel-homed "server" that is connected to the
ADSL modem using one NIC and using a different NIC to connect to the rest of
the private LAN.
