Can't paste to "FIND" in Word.

I have an existing Microsoft Word Document in XP and I want to search and
substitute a term (used multiple times) from one Word Document to another
using the "Find and Replace" feature.

However, when I copy top the clip board, (right click) and go to "Find"
under the edit feature, while the curser flashes in the Find window, it
refuses to "Paste."

Is there a setting I have turned off that won't allow me to Paste? I can
paste to the text page, but not to the Find window.

I've been fooling with that problem for over a year.
