Hi -
I work in the Computer Services Dept. of a School in Upstate NY an a
teacher was experiencing an interesting problem in Excel on Friday afternoon.
The teacher had opened an Excel SS she had been working w/ that morning (a
very simple SS w/ some student names and 4 columns of basic data on each) and
after adding many lines, Excel seemed to take over the computer when she went
to copy and paste because after selecting an area and copying she was unable
to click a destination a destination cell and where ever she moved the mouse
(even after clicking on the desktop) Excel would continue to highlight the SS
(no matter which way on the desktop you went). You couldn’t minimize Excel
or save the SS, the only way to shut down Excel was w/the Task Manager and
that didn’t save the SS at all. She had mentioned this happened once before
but, she just ended and started all over again. The teacher isn’t sure if
she hit any keys or clicked on something but have you ever heard of this
before and if yes, is there a fix or a way to save the SS before Tasking out
to end Excel??
