I have tried three different things in trying to open
Word. I have tried msconfig, normal.dot, and deleteing
and adding back onto my computer. I have emailed once
and was told to go to run and type in program name, this
worked but the next step was to find the normal template
which I am unable to locate. I have gone to the search
window on my computer to locate but nothing comes up.
Please help! Thanks!

Normal.dot is a hidden file in the user template folder. the location of
this will depend on operating system, but with XP it is likely to be
C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates.
You will need to set Explorer to display hidden files in order to see it.

You should be able to check this by running Word in safe mode (start from
Windows > start > run with Winword /a ) and checking tools > options > file
locations.
