Cant open up word from outlook or desktop

For some reason Word documents will not open up from my desktop or from
Outlook anymore. I have to open up Word sepearatley then go to File, open,
and then pull the documents I need. I have try double clicking on the
attachemnts and on the documents on the desktop. I have also right clicked on
the icon then click open. No luck. Anybody know what happened to cause this
and how to fix it.
 
If you are using Norton AV, go to Norton Options and in the Miscellaneous
section, turn off "Enable Office Plug-in".

If this works, could you please post back and let us know? Several users are
encountering this issue and I suspect it's caused by the Office Plug-in but
so far no one has confirmed this for me.

(Please reply - if you mark this post as an Answer then we aren't able to
see it, most of us use other newsreaders and do not use the interface
provided in the Microsoft site.)
