can't open some attachments

Ever since I downloaded the XP service pac I can't open
any message that has been forwared more than once. Is
this something new in the security system? How can I get
around it.

Assuming you are using Outlook Express, open it, go to Tools, select
Options, go to the Security tab, remove the check from "Do not allow
attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus," click
apply and ok.

Be aware, the most viruses come from people we know as they often propagate
by auto e-mailing themselves to every entry in a user's address book. For
your own protection and that of others, you should always save an attachment
to a temp folder and scan it with your antivirus software before opening.
