Can't open private folder from Outlook 2002

My PC was upgraded and the .pst file was copied to the new
machine. When I tried to open the folder (File, Open,
Outlook Data file, and click the .pst file) ,

I get a pop-up window with the message 'Out of memory or
system resources. Close some windows or programs and try
again'.

But this is a new machine with much faster speed and
memory.

When I tried to define the folder (Tools, Options, Mail
set up, Data files , open Files.., and click the .pst file)
a window pop-up prompting me to open it from a list of
programs. If I select Outlook then another pop-up window
appeared with the message 'A Dialog Box is open. Close it
and try again'.

Any help is appreciated.

What profile are you referring to ?
Do you mean my LAN userid ?
Is there any document that talks about this problem from
Microsoft ?

I managed to fool Outlook into opening the .PST file.
I added a new folders with a different file name but with
the same password as the one I had problem with.
Close Outlook. Delete the dummy folder file. Rename my
real .PST file to the dummy folder. Restart outlook and
outlook prompted for password and it works !!!!
