Where are the files saved and how...exactly...
are you trying to open them? What format are
the files saved in?

Maybe the files have been...moved, deleted,
infected with a virus, etc.

well, it's all pics... e-mail attatchments for one.
then I went to "My pics" and it won't even open
the "sample" pics that came with the computer. I get an
error that reads "Windows cannot find flies
in 'C:/documents and settings/......" blah blah
Can't figure out what is wrong. I think that my husband
may have done something once when clearing a virus, but I
don't know how to fix it.
Could that have been the problem?
HELP!!!

Hard to figure out based on the info you have
posted. Sounds like your images may be gone.
Do you remember the name of the virus you had
to remove?

Try this...go to...Start button / Search / All Files
and Folders...

In the "All or part of the file name" field...
Type in *.jpg (yes you need the asterisk)

In the "Look in" drop window...
Select: Local Disk (C:)

Left click the "Search" button.

This should find *all* the .jpg files that are saved
on your hard drive.

The path (location) of each file will be listed in
the "In Folder" column.
