Hi,
I’m running IE6 on Windows 98.
I am still using dial-up so I often open new web pages that are accessed via
a link on the current page in a new window. Then I don’t have to re-load the
original page once I’ve finished looking at the new one.
This works fine except when the link to the new page involves java. So if
the link is something like 'http://www.etc' then it opens in a new window
with no problems. But if instead the link is something like 'javascript:etc'
then if I try to open the link in a new window I get a new window that is
headed ‘The page cannot be displayed’ and the tab at the bottom of the screen
says ‘Cannot find server’. But if instead I simply click on the link to
display it in the current window then it works fine (but of course I then
have to reload the original page once I’ve finished).
Why does it do this? Is it simply because I need to amend my settings? (I
don’t have any anti pop-up software installed.)
Thanks
Chris
