computer. I can access it fine from home. It just sits at a blank screen does
nothing. Any advice?

Hi clone1008 :-)
I'm running WinMe and IE6 with SP2 update.

Ahmm...can you please give a bit more detail about this? Do you actually
have WinME with SP2 installed? Or is it WinXP with SP2? There is a lot of
difference there., and....well...resolutions could be sorta difficult if you
do have WinME with SP2 installed. :-)

Whichever the case, you may have scumware on your system causing the
problem. In addition to updating and running your AV, download, install and
run the programs below in Safe Mode with Hidden Files enabled. This will
remove the nasty you have and any others it may have let in the back door.
Some malware can replicate itself repeatedly if not removed properly, so
even if you have already run some programs, run them again according to the
information below. Follow all instructions carefully:

First, Clear the TIF's and empty the recycle bin:

If so, then do the following:

Download and install BHODemon from
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm
Your problem may be caused by a bad BHO.

Most importantly, download install and run CWShredder here
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3019.html
and About Buster, which searches for hidden .dlls that recreate the malware.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4289.html
Then visit these two sites to test for parasites and help basic cleaning:
On-Line Check
http://aumha.org/a/noads.htm
and
Quick-Fix Protocol.
http://aumha.org/a/quickfix.php
Basically, throw everything here at your "infection".

Then download, install and immediately update these three programs before
running:
AdAware SE - Update immediately after installing

Next, do an Online scan here (if possible) -
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm
Make sure that you choose "fix" or "clean".

Download PocketKkillbox from
http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/killbox.exe
and put it on the desktop where you can find it easily

Download, install, and run HiJackThis - it is one of the most important

I agree with the other poster that check for spyware first - I did all that
mind, & my website viewing problem is still there - I'm sure it's connected
with my Router (I've posted a messege in this newsgroup just recently - if
your wired up to a network at your office your router may have the same
problem as mine - i can't view my future potential wholesaler- so it's
driving me nuts!!

Hi linkyjinx :-)

If you are sure there is no scumware on your system, then you might check
the inforamtion here and see if it helps:

Cannot access just one site

Cannot browse certain websites
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10082

or..

Go to the following and open with Notepad,
C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS (the one with no extension (not the .SAM one)
then delete any listing reference for the site you are trying to open.
Then Save and close.
How to check Hosts file

Windows/host (it will not have an extension, and if there is more than one,
choose the one that says Application in a column to the right) . Right click
on it and select Open with.....when the window opens, scroll down the list
to Notepad. Once it opens in Notepad, scroll down the list to see if that
site is in the list. If so, DO NOT delete it, just go to the very front of
the line to the left and enter # in front of the line so that it looks
similar to the one below, as the entries with # in front will be ignored.

# Entries with other comments are searchable via Google.

Then click the save button and close. Then try the site again.

For more information on the HOSTS file check here

HOST File Manager in HJT
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=42#intro
Scroll to this section How to use the Hosts File Manager

If you have Zone Alarm, you might also check the Trusted area there too:
http://castlecops.com/postt79691.html

Also..... try adding the site to your Trusted Zone.
