Can't open My Briefcase

All of a sudden I can't open My Briefcase. I'm using Windows XP and I've never had a problem opening it. When I click on my desktop icon I get this message; "The driver or network connection that the shortcut 'My Briefcase.Ink' refers to is unavailble. Make sure that the disk is properly installed or the network reource is unavailable, and try again" I have no idea what this means and I've never seen it before. I went to search and help and it found 2 shortcuts of My Briefcase and when I clicked on them I got the same message as above. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
