Can't open inbox outlook 2003 .pst file gone

I can't open my inbox in Outlook 2003 - Errors in the outlook.pst file.
Tried the Scanpst.exe, but there's no .pst to scan. Also tried the repair
from the Outlook installation disk, but it didn't fix that problem. Can I
reinstall Outlook 2003 without losing everything?? Thanks so much for your
help!
 
Please start off by posting some actual information.
What is the exact error message?
What steps caused the problem?
Are you running against a local data file (PST file) or Exchange Server?
 
The error was- Can not open inbox folder...error found in the c:
......outlook.pst
I ended up calling MS support and it took them an hour to fix the problem.
