can't open IE 6 (windows XP home)

My Gateway desktop was running fine until Aug. 22. Since
then I cannot open Internet Explorer. 'Cannot Display
this Page' is the message we get. Can anyone offer advise
to help?

System Restore on before problem date, or maybe set
