Hello.

I have a PC that I can surf the net without any problem but when I try to
see my mails on hotmail I can't enter the page.
It asks me the username and password it stays there trying to open the page
and I get no response.

Any sugestions

Thanks

Hi,

It's been previously suggested that reinstallation of your scripting engine
may serve to solve this problem.

You may download such a package from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

Best regards,

Altrus

I have been checking into the same issue, the following worked for me:

- In MSIE Goto:
--> Tools
--> Internet Options
--> Advanced
- Under "Browsing", uncheck "Use HTTP 1.1"

That seemed to work for me. Also, per Sandi (MS MVP, great FAQ/Answer Sheet
BTW), you can also try check:
"Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections".

That may help with future compatability depending on how you are browsing,
though I don't think it is required.

Hope this helps. Cheers and happy holidays.

To all that wonder why you may not be able to open a page or why you
get a msg why "page cannot be displayed" :
You do not state what firewall you are using
If you are using a firewall that has a privacy setting
that may be the reason why you have the result
"page cannot be displayed"
or IE is slow to find the URL or display it.
The same problem has been bugging me since I upgraded my eTrust
firewall.
I have read every post on this issue and cleaned all my spy and adware
with everything that was reccomended.
Still there was no joy till I tweaked my firewall settings.
Believe me I have little hair left!!!
I hope this helps.........
