Hi there.
I have been working on several images (all saved in the
same folder." For some reason, I cannot access any of the
image files in that folder without the following error
popping up:

Application error
The instruction at "0 x 77f7eZZa" referenced memory at "0
x 00000014". The memory could not be "read."

Some of the images came off a CD that was read only. (I
am not sure if this is causing something or not.)
I cannot open the file from any propgram including
windows explorer. I

t happened out of the blue...ie I had been working onthe
image files for several days without incident....and put
many hours into the work that I cannot acess any more.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.Jess.

What is the software you used to work on the images?
All CD-Rs are read only. I assume you copied the image from the CD-R to your
hard drive and then opened the image with a photo editing software. Then you
started editing the images.
Also, how much RAM memory do you have and what is the size (file size) of
your images.
I think if you can provide these details somebody will help.

Yes and no. Take a look at this advice from Photoshop.
How PS uses RAM and Scratch disk is quite important. At 256 RAM on XP you
are barely making it with PS so it is important to set your computer to
optimum conditions and the site below will give you very good advice on how
to do it.

Also not a bad idea to look and post at Photoshop forum for such problem.

Try this...right click on a .jpg file and choose
Properties. Click the Photoshop Image tab
and uncheck the "Generate Thumbnails" button,
then click OK.

Now, can you open your folder?

Hey You! PROBLEM SOLVED! Thanks a million--you just saved
me days of work! Cheers!

You're welcome.

Thanks for the update. Lots of folks move on
when they get their fix and we never know if it
worked or not.
