Can't open file

Hello. I hope someone can help me on this. I spent several hours
yesterday working on a pretty large powerpoint file.

Today, it will not open. I get the message "cannot open file [names the
file location on my computer] because part of the file is missing".

Any clues what this might mean and if it's fixable?

I would say to revert to your backup, but it doesn't sound like you have
one. So the first thing you should do is make note of this link and grab
the free sequential save add-in from http://www.mvps.org/skp/seqsave.htm for
future and regular use.

Are you opening it in the same version of PowerPoint or in PowerPoint 2003?
If so please let us know, because there is a fix for that.

If you're using the same version of PowerPoint as you used yesterday, then
the presentation may have become corrupted. Did you try to save it to a
floppy or a CD?
