Hi,

I working with Movie Maker (File Version 2.0.3312.0), and I can't seem to
open a movie created in previous version??? (the file extension is .mswmm)

I have tried right-clicking on the file to restore a precious version, but
once I have right-clicked, it does not give me this option.

Do you have any suggestions. It'd be hugely appreciated.

Kind regards,

A .mswmm file is not a movie...it is a project file...
If the .mswmm project file is compatible with your
version of Movie Maker there are two ways to open it.

1) Double left click the file and Movie Maker will launch
with the file displayed. Be aware...if the source files...
movie clips, pictures, music files...are no longer in their
original location s you will only see Red Xs in the
collections pane.

2) Open Movie Maker and go to...File / Open Project...
Browse to the .mswmm file.

I know that Movie Maker with XP projects are not compatible
with Movie Maker in Vista. Is this your case? Saga

Actually it is the other way round saga, vista projects will not open in XP
:)
It is often the case that new versions will work with old version projects,
but old versions will not work with new version projects.

Thanks for the clarafication - I was under the impression that Vista MM
could not open open XP MM projects. I am glad you corrected me on this!
