Can't open deleted items

I have windows XP with Office 2003. I am having an issue with my outlook. I can't open my deleted items folder. I get no error message and the folder does not open. Everything else is ok.I tried to repair outlook but that made no difference. Thanks in advance for any help.
 
Can you rightclick it and choose Clear Deleted Items Folder? Does it return
an error then?

Are you using a pst-file? Run scanpst.exe against it and see if it comes
upwith anything.

If this doesn't help run Outlook from the Run command with the /safe switch
and see if you can clear it then.
