I get this message when I try to open a 33 mb database
(dbf file) I've been using in Approach for years. I can
get about a third of it in Excel so I know it's there but
with the upgrade to XP, I replaced Approach with Acess
2003. Any ideas.

"The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the
object <name>. Make sure the object exists and that you
spell its name and the path name correctly. (Error 3011)"

George,

Is filename of the DBF file longer than 8 characters? Sometimes Access
insists that a DBF filename must be in the 8.3 format. Try copying or
renaming your file so that there are no more than 8 characters to the left
of the period.

hth,

Thanks soooo much
George
