I have a database that opens from another database. The main database uses a
shortcut to open where users must enter username and password. The second
database actually has no security, and if you browse to it in windows
explorer and double-click, it opens normally....usually.
A user was working in the database who was connected via dial-up connection
and lost his connection. Now when anybody tries to open the database, it
says it needs to be repaired...but it won't repair! I've made a copy of the
second database (the main one still works fine) and it won't let me open it
anymore saying I don't have permission. The database is in Access 2000,
although I'm using 2003 to try to recover it. I'm looking for the Wrkgadmn
file, and can't find it on my computer...is this done differently in 2003?
I've also tried downloading the JetComp utility, but it just says "There was
an error compacting the database" and does nothing.
Any ideas how I can get the data from this damaged database?? I can't
import from it or link to it...just get the message saying I don't have
permission!
Thanks!!
