Cant open certain web page

Search for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be
a hidden file. Rename it to HOSTS.OLD

Can you "ping" the site?
[example] from a Dos Prompt (98\ME) or Command Prompt (2K\XP)

ping microsoft.com

Note: substitute the desired address for "microsoft.com"
If you see a "127.0.0.1" message then you have an entry in your HOSTS file
that is blocking access.
What URL can't you access?
