When I try to open an .XLS file from a particular network
directory by double-clicking, I get the message box saying
the file can't be found. The same happens when I navigate
to the file in the Excel Open dialog.
I have no trouble opening files with spaces in the names.
I can open files in other directories on the same network
drive. If I copy one of these files to the directory I'm
having trouble with and try to open them from there, Excel
says it can't find them.
All security attributes on this directory seem to match
those in other directories that don't give me this problem.
The only difference I can think of between this directory
and others is that the user who created it uses a
different drive letter on his machine to map to the
network drive.
Any clues? Replies via email will be most appreciated.
Thanks,
