can't open an acces file

When I open an access file it gives me this message:
" the database ... needs to be repaired or isn't a
database file" when i say yes it gives you "unregognized
database format" than the database .. can't be
repaired ..."

Is there any solution to be able to get the infor like the
tables, queries and reports

Unfortunately, the database may be totally trashed at this point. If
you have a backup, use it; if you don't... you now have a painful
lesson in why backups are essential.

willing to pay a (reasonable, due only upon success) fee to salvage

Is this database in a newer version than the Access version
you are opening it with?

Something else to try would be to create a new empty
database and see if you can import all of the objects from
the problem child into the new one.
