Ok, we know it's a job application but what is the file type? What are the
three letters after the "." Example : Filename.XXX . What are the XXX's.?

it actually says application- form-en.doc so have no idea what kind of file
it is..can you help please?

Sorry for jumping in Merlin!

".doc" file extension (what the last 3 letters are called) is a MS Office
word document (in short doc).

Do you have Word or program that have convert to different format?
Any word processor program. Maybe even Wordpad.
it will change the appearance of the document though.
open and save as ".rtf" (rich text format) if possible.

This is simply a word document file. I am pretty sure you can open
it with Microsoft Word or even with Notepad or Wordpad. Since I assume
you don't have Word (since the file doesn't have Word icon), try
manually opening up Notepad and then click on File --> Open. Under the
Files Of Types drop down menu, click on All Files. Double click on the
document and see it it opens up.
If it still doesn't open up, it could be that the file is
corrupted and needs to be repaired. Also, try check to see if it is
infected with a virus by scanning it with a virus scanner.
