I found the files that I deleted form GAIN and HOTBAR in my recycle bin, and
restoring it,
my problem is fixed, and yes, there was some dll files! what a shame for
that co.
I contacted them and they denied they had anything to do with it!

However, I do think I know what has caused it on my PC (XP). IE6 was working
fine for me
until I downloaded Audiogalaxy (music file-sharing utility for those who
don't know).
The program came with an annoying automatic plug-in (to keep the software
free) called
"Gain" which would occasionally cause pop-up adverts to appear whilst
surfing. To get rid of
these annoying pop-ups I decided to search my hard drive for all "Gain"
files and folders,
and to delete them.

Did this, then the browser started freezing up every time I had more than 1
browser page
up whilst surfing the web.

Some of the "Gain" files were .dll files, and I guess this is were the root
of the problem lies.
Gain" must have over-ridden the .dll files that IE6/XP used to handle
multiple browser windows,
and now that they are gone IE6/XP gets confused and freezes the browser up.

Dunno if you've used Audiogalaxy or Gain Jacob, but my guess is that you've
done something
similar to me - i.e. deleted some .dll files by mistake that are crucial to
IE6 handling
multiple browser windows.

The only solution I can see is to re-install IE6, but as I'm sure you can
see from this
newsgroup, that is easier said than done.
Gonna give that a try when I figure out how to do it (I'm only an average PC
user). But if
anyone reading this knows a simpler way to sort this problem out - PLEASE
LET ME KNOW!

Hope that was of some help to you Jacob.

Mark.
=========================

I found my problem. I used "msconfig", under the startup tab are all the
programs that start when the computer boots. Through the process of
elimination, I started the computer without an item called "cmesys" and
seems to work.

Cmesys is a Gator product and I don't even know how I got it on my computer.
I found where it was and uninstalled it. Things seem to work fine now.
