Can't Network to XP Home

I have a XP Pro computer. I want to store backups on
another computer that has XP Home. They are connected with
a Linksys router/switch.

I can ping from the Pro to the Home and vice versa using
either the IP addresses or the names I place in the Hosts
file. I made a folder for the Pro backup on the Home
machine and shared it.

I was able to place a Network connection for the folder I
created on the Home machine in My Network Places on the
Pro. But when I try to connect it fails.

Also when I try to use the backup program on the Pro to
backup to the Home it fails to use the Home location.

There is something about file sharing on the Home machine
that is interfering.

Anyone know what it is?
 
I have XP Pro on one computer in my house, all the others
are home. I dont have any problems accessing the other
computers. Try running the network setup wizard again on
the Home computer then on the Pro.

Stating "it fails" is just not adequate information.
What is the EXACT error message?
Are there any Firewall programs installed and enabled
on either computer, including the XP ICF?
If so, turn the Firewall off (the XP ICF is not meant to
be used with the LAN connection anyway) until the
network is established.
In System Properties | Computer Name tab -
does each computer have a unique Full Computer Name
and the same Workgroup Name?
In Network Connections | LAC | Properties | TCP/IP
properties - is it set to Obtain IP Address Automatically?
It should be - click on the Advanced button there and
then click on the Wins tab and select "Enable NetBIOS
over TCP/IP"
