I have IE6 with XP Pro SP2 on Dell Latitude. The problem started with IE
opening to a blank white page and ending with a Not Responding message. I
tried to clear the cache, history, etc. files and kept getting a "run dll
error" message. Per previous posts, I relinked the dll files. I could then
get my homepage, but nothing else. The problem seems to lie in the fact that
I am unable to successfully delete the cache, etc. files. I have tried
CCleaner and I am able to analyze the files, but get an hour glass when I
choose to run the cleaner. The program never does anything. I can not run
XPs Disk Cleanup program and have tried all of the suggestions listed by
everyone, including BHOs, disabling add-ons, etc. Does anyone have any other
suggestions that I might be able to try?

In order to rule out the possibly of a Hijack, proceed as follows;

Download and run HijackThis;
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip)
Read this Tutorial *before* first use;
(http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=42)
Once done > run HijackThis > save a scan log and post it to /any/ of the
following (expert) forums for analysis.
