Hi guys,

I'm frenetically trying to move the virtual memory from a slow
80 GB (C:) disk where the XP home edition is installed to a
faster 3.5 GB disk, but the system won't accept it.
I've even tried to move the swap file to a 2GB partition on
the C: disk but with no result, it's still in the root of the disk.
I'm logging in with administrators privileges.

Anyone out there who has any idea why it can't be done?

Thanx
Thorfinn

Hi, Thorfin,

Just to see if you might have skipped a step,
Try the following:

Click Start, right click My Computer and Properties,
Click Advanced and under Performance, click Settings,
Click Advanced again,
Under Virtual Memory, click Change,
In the Drive window, highlight C: drive and click Custom size,
Initial size 10 min and 50 max,
click Set, (this is a necessary file to run properly)
In the Drive window, highlight the drive where you want the Swap file,
Click System Managed Size and click Set.
Click Apply & OK

At this moment I just receive the blue death screen with a message telling
that it's fault # %&¤¤!½§*@ÇÆ?¥ç and that memory dumping has started.

Any idea what to do?

Regards
Thorfinn
